Life In The Big Apple
Sunday, February 25, 2007 Super Long Post
Lets begin with Saturday, 24th February. My original plans for the day was:
I've been hanging out with Vincent A LOT! He went to buy a PS2 game at LM, then after that, with nothing to do, we decided to go look for Wing Tsun at that Vietnamese Restaurant. After saying hi, we went over to the arcade. One thing that I can be sure that Vincent can't beat me at is air hockey. Yes, I love playing air hockey. I haven't been beaten by anyone since the day after Kat's Pot Luck bbq sleepover party. And that was with Vincent having a 2 point lead after I took over from Kat. I trashed him twice this time. Both with the score of 7-3. Finally we went looking for something to eat. Vincent wanted to eat Delifrance since we haven't had that in awhile. I ordered the CNY set. 3 course meal. It was quite nice, esspecially the dessert. After paying for our food, we set off towards Moi's house. Earlier, Moi told me that he was going over to Giant for some last minute shopping for his open house the next day. But he hasn't done it yet. We had nothing better to do at that time and decided to shop with him. It was a erm... fun experience for him. Haha... I've shopped with friends before at a supermarket. But it was his first time so he had fun. hahaha! We had all of the stuff on the shopping list except for salmon. I suggested to get the smoked salmon strips. Unfortunately, the only type of salmon they sold there was the salmon steak. We put all the fresh food back, and the foods that needed to be refrigerated as well before paying for the stuff we bought. My windshield wipers got spoiled right before we left the building. It got stuck, and something inside broke. You can hear the motors whirring, but the wipers aren't moving. So... yea... I was really frustrated that my car was breaking apart. Planning to get that fixed later today. We went over to Jusco as that is the best place to get fresh food. I remember seeing sliced smoked salmon, vacumm packed as well. But, lo and behold, There weren't any there and the sushi section which was our 2nd choice, was closed. It was around 9pm at that time. Well, we managed to get the tomatoes, cheese, bacon and ranch dressing for the potatoes as well. While we were standing and discussing about what to do about the salmon, I saw a familiar person erm... running, sneakily... I guess... towards the back of Moi and Vincent. I immediately pointed at him and shouted: BABI! Haha... I had no idea why i did that but, yea. Thats what I did. We were all happily surprised to see Weng Kit there and we chatted for awhile about the open hse the next day and he offered to cook the sauce for the spaghetti. So we went looking for the liquid whipped cream for him. While choosing one, we saw ANOTHER familiar face. One that I haven't seen since the SPM ended. Siang Hang. So the 5 of us chatted happily there for awhile before I noticed that it was getting a lil late. We said our goodbyes, payed for our stuff and then dropped everything off at Moi's place before going to Old Town for a drink. Vincent and Moi took some really stupid videos on the way to and from Moi's place. I'll post them once I get it uploaded to YouTube. After our drinks, Vincent was itching to get into a CC and play DOTA. Saying he wants to team up with Moi and trash me. Well in the end they didn't play since there wasn't many people playing, and joined me in Battlefield 2142. Its kinda unfair though. 1 against 2. Moi was using a Mech and Vincent was a support soldier. I was left without ANY vehicles whatsoever. Thankfully I still scored higher than the both of them. heee!!!! =P The next day, I woke up at 8.30 in the morning, washed up and everything then waited for Ju Hung to come over before leaving to pick up Vincent, then Ian and Ming Yoong at the LRT Station. We went to Leisure Mall after that, intending to buy the smoked salmon from Sushi King, except it was still closed. So Ju Hung went to Giant and bought a can of abalones instead. We arrived at Moi's place an hour late thanks to Ming Yoong's lateness and the whole salmon-abalone thing. Most of the guests were there. All ex-victorians. Kim Bee, Weng Kit, Mun Yeu, Nelson and Wing Hong. After awhile, Vincent then asked me to go and get my CD from the car, when I walked out of the front gate, I saw a yellow Vitara doing a 3 point turn at the end of the road. The person in the front passenger seat looked like Mun Tat but I wasn't sure since it was very sunny. Well, I just walked over to my car and took the cards out. When I got my CD and closed the boot, The Vitara was right in front of my car and I could clearly see who was driving the car and who was next to him. Wei Hsien and Mun Tat. As I walked towards the car, I saw another passenger in the back seat, her. Ok I was expecting Mun Tat, but not Wei Hsien and her. Cause Moi didn't mention both of their names when asked who was invited. Anyway it wasn't my open house so I didn't say anything. Well, the rest of the time at Moi's place was rather arkward and uncomfortable for me nonetheless. The sensation grew till I couldn't stand it and I desperately needed a reason to excuse myself. Lucky for me, the clouds were coming and it did look like rain. I told Moi that I had to leave because it looks like rain and I don't want to be stranded here when it comes cause I've got to be home by 4. Even though it was only 2 at that time. (Really sorry Moi, but please understand). I told Kat what happened and everything over the phone once I got into my room. I felt really really pathetic and everything at that time. Well, I spent the time waiting by looking at the new Ferrari F2007. Beautiful car. 5pm finally came and I left with my dad and brother to meet up with Uncle Choo and my cousin, Faizul. We then started our 1 hour journey to Kuala Selangor. The view was, as usual in Malaysia, palm tree plantations. But it wasn't along the North South highway. It was lining a 2 lane, bumpy road. My dad was telling me something about some people, I was listening to him but still, I was thinking of something else. I can't remember what. But I have a feeling it had something to do with me leaving the country or her. Its what I think about most nowadays. We finally arrived at our destination. The restaurant that we ate at was on the waterfront. You could see the sun setting across the river above and behind the trees. It was a really beautiful sight. I've forgotten how many pics I took of that sight. After dinner, we made our way to the firefly reserve place thingy... haha... I forgotten whats it called exactly. Anyway... let me describe it for you. It was a really remarkable experience. One that I might not ever have again. Sitting in a sampan, watching the fireflies on the trees, blinking like Christmas tree lights. It was really quiet except for the sounds of insects and the water while the oarman rowed. Well there was that annoying malay karaoke singing from somewhere. The only illumination was from the moon above. It was really a beautiful sight... and experience. This was the most amount of stars I've ever seen in the sky at one time. Because there was no artifical illumination at all, with only the moonlight, there were many stars out that night. So, it can also be, in a way, a romantic experience as well. That is... if the person you loved was next to you. My mind kept returning to her while I sat in that sampan, watching the fireflies and the stars twinkle. I kept remembering being in Moi's place and how uncomfortable I was. Unfortunately, I don't have a good enough camera to take any pics. My phone camera was the only thing I have. After that experience, we dropped by cousin Faizul's place at Sg. Buluh. It is a really nice house. Big and spacious, with a contemporary interior design. It just lacks a few furniture though. But it was still a really nice house. The master bedroom was devided into 3 sections. The bedroom itself, a bathroom that was seperated fron the reading area by a erm.. whatcha call it... Ok I forgotten well anyway it was just seperated by this erm... foldable changing wall thing... the ones u see on cartoons or shows where like someone goes behind it to change and u can just see the silhouette of the person. Well thats the only thing seperating the jaccuzi bathtub and the reading area. I'll post the pics and u'll see them. Yesterday I went over to Melissa's place in Happy Garden to pick her up, then went over to the LRT Station just to learn that I have to wait there while Khalidi is like 10 stations away! While waiting I saw a familiar face across the street. Jasvind, my senior AND former temporary Maths teacher last year was sitting there when I called him over. He was apparently waiting for a bus I guess, to go to Leisure Mall. Since I was headed towards Kat's place next to pick her up, I offered to give him a ride. Khalidi arrived 20+ minutes after I arrived (He apparently got off the wrong station earlier) By the time I picked Kat up (she was wearing a.. erm.. bluish dress, thats a first) and got to Vincent's place, It was around 1pm. We just hang around a bit, played card games like black jack and shithead. Listened to music, trashed Vincent's room, ate pizza =P yumm... Pepperoni and plain cheese.... =P. After that, I dropped Kat back at her hse, then Phi at her grandmother's hse and drove myself, Vince, Khalidi and Melissa to Times Square. For the first time, the roads weren't that congested so we got there fairly quickly. Once there, we made a beeline to the bowling alley. 3 games each with me winning the first 2 games. My bad leg finally caught up at the end of the 2nd round and I was practically limping throughout the whole 3rd game. So I screwed that one up. After that, we dropped by Borders and read manga there for quite a while, till 8+ before finally heading to the top floor food court for dinner. Almost bought some Korean food but in the end, we settled for Pasta =P. So that makes my whole day cheesy. Pizza and Pasta (with smoked salmon). The next day, I woke up at 9.30, got ready, then dropped by McDonalds to pick up breakfast and drove over to the Bdr. Tun Razak station. They told me to go and pick them there at 11 and all of us reached there at 11. Sharp. They just arrived on the train, while I just arrived in the car. We went to Wei Leng's place and then waited for her to get her dogs tied up since Adli is a Muslim. We ate some of her homemade cookies (Adli liked the deep fried crabsticks). Her internet connection however was REALLY slow. Dial-up. I am so glad that I switched to streamyx. After awhile, we went to Leisure Mall for lunch (pizza again. haha!). Then the girls had their Baskin Robins. I then challenged Adli to a game of Air Hockey at the arcade. I beat him... 7-3 I think. Then I challenged Wei Leng as well. I didn't really play full out. Just like... really relaxed. Surprisingly. I got up to 6-0 very fast. Then after that, Wai Teng took over and she did an own goal. Soo.... Haha... I fell onto the floor after that in laughter. We went to the Chan sister's hse (Chan Wai Yee, Chan Wai Teng, Chan Wai Kay) after that. Their room was around the same size as mine. except that its 3 girls sleeping in one room so its a lil cramped. We joked around, surfed the internet for awhile, played blackjack, shithead, and even talked to Aqram on the phone for awhile, who was caught in the rain. hahaha... pity him. I found out later that Wai Kay knew Chester. And that she confirmed my guess that he liked a girl named Aimee. Well I'm not going into details here. Later, their whole family left to Titiwangsa to watch the fireworks at the Eye On Malaysia thing. I managed to get directions to Titiwangsa from Mr. Chan (thanks!!!). So next time, I won't be driving around in circles with Phi and Vince in the car, at night, looking for it. Haha! ![]() ![]() ![]() Wednesday, February 21, 2007 Kat's place.
New addition to the playlist: Save Tonight - Rockapella, Jewel - Ayumi Hamasaki, Take It Easy (Remix) - Mika Heyaz, I went over to Kathryn's place today for her CNY open hse. It was around 3pm. I woke up at around 12.35pm (yea I know its late but, its still the holidays and its not as though I had much to do before I left. I had to pick Dante up since Adeliene couldn't pick him up. We arrived at Kat's place at 2.44pm. Kah Fai, Vincent and a few others were there. We sat around for a while before Kat's mom and Dad came back and soon after, so did Adeliene and Shueh Yi... (erm.... yea I dunno how to spell her name). Well we had a lil karaoke session going on, ate her cookies (me and vincent ate a lil too much), blackjack, erm... what else, shithead, yea, musn't forget that and then more karaoke. Hahaha. Yes it was a fun 5 hours there. I had to go back at around 7+, close to 8 cause it was getting dark. Tomorrow I'm going to have to pick up around 3 to 4 people and drop off my brother at my cousin's place too. Phi (maybe) at her hse, then drop Edric off at Bdr. Sri Permaisuri, then pick Melissa up at Happy Garden (it ain't happy, trust me), then pick up Khalidi from the Tasik Selatan LRT Station, then pick Kathryn up and finally go to Vincent's place. Here are some videos taken on CNY eve. Or more precisely, at around 12.00am on the first day of CNY. Tuesday, February 20, 2007 Lion Dances and Wong Kok Char Chan Teng
Latest song in playlist : Save Tonight - Rockapella OK no pics this time, something's wrong with my Motorola Phone Tools program. Yesterday I went over to Uncle Choo's hse at the Mines. Its near the Australian International School Malaysia. The whole housing area only has like, 5 completed bungalows and 1 more under construction. The rest are empty lots of well kept grass, like the ones that you see at golf courses, devided by neat bushes. Well there are only 2 houses that are occupied at the moment. The main attraction for the day would be the lion dance. Well I can't really describe them. They're all similar. haha. Yes, I've sorta ran out of things to write about CNY. Its the same every year. Visits to relatives and friends, eating, chatting, receiving ang paos, and so on. Although it will be my last here (and probably my last big one, since its not considered a holiday back in the states) its not that exciting. Tomorrow I'll be going over to Kat's place, she invited the same people who went for her bbq the last time. So at least I'll know some of them who'll be there. Sunday, February 18, 2007 Dong Dong Dong Chang....
Well after some time... at around... 12.00am, the fireworks started. I was actually in front of 2 small dog when it went off, both of them got so shocked. One ran towards her owner, the other one yelped loudly. Very loudly. Me and Adieb, sitting on the hood of a Porche =PWell after that, Adieb went back home, Susan was desperate to watch football so she went back as well, Su Via was playing with the dogs, so I ended up chatting with Su Yee, the smallest of the 3 =P Yea, she'd beat me if she read this. haha! We chatted about songs, solo acting for the SEA Forensics Tournament, guys with 6 packs (her idea) and so on. I finally went home at 3 something. The next day, I only went to my eldest uncle's place for lunch and stayed there till 6+. Yea nothing much to talk about. Thats about all. So far I've gathered 8 ang paos... up to RM172.00 Tomorrow I'll be going over to my Aunt Serena's place. Time to go bother Ee Vonn, my cousin that introduced me to O2 Jam in the first place =P. WOw! Its been a year already. Time sure flies. Wednesday, February 14, 2007 Pics!!
Whats left of the ice cream pie after Phi ate it before Vincent and I had a chance to even take a bite. (j/k) Best Valentines Day EVER!
The necklace(can't really see the details) The rest of the day went on as usual, nothing much, had a really stupid chat with Vincent, picked Edric up, went to the doctor, came home, bla bla bla. At around 7pm++, I drove over to Tasik Selatan LRT Station to pick Vincent up. I gave a call to Moi and asked him about the SEA Forensics at ISKL. This is the first time since I started going for it that I missed the 1st day of the competition. I heard that Gus did really well in his OI, getting a rank of 1,1 while in solo acting he got a ranking of 1,3 and it was in a room where the most promising actors were in, 2 other contestants got a rank of 1,3 and 2,2. In other words, Gus and the 2 other actors are tied with the highest score in that room. Well I had to wait for a really long time for Vincent to arrive and we had to go over to his place first cause he doesn't want to go to Mid Valley wearing a light blue t-shirt, shorts and slippers. So by the time we picked Melissa and Tsing Yie up, it was already 9pm. We made our way to Mid Valley which was still quite jammed up even at that time. In the carpark I was cursing out loud over and over again when some idiot went and stole my parking space. Horned at him too. And the #$*&^# bugger didn't even look at us. Well I found one in the end after some time. Lucky! We almost ate Thai food and Nandos but in the end, Vincent treated us to dinner at Madam Kwan's. the bill was at Rm111. Which was less than the time Vince, Phi and I ate at Chilis. And this is with 4 of us eating. We joked around alot as well. By the time we were done, most of the shops has already closed or were closing. We went to the bowling alley and ta-da~, it was still open. The girls didn't wanna play though there was one part of our conversation that was funny. Me : Vincent wants you girls to play, he says he want to trash you. Tsing : *with a smile on her face* He can't beat me. (or something like that) *Vincent ended up with that blur, dumbstruck look on his face whenever he gets countered* I think she wounded his pride or something. Ok let me see, Cosmic Bowl, a very interesting place, at around 11, the normal lights will be turned off, all the lanes will be bathed in ultraviolet light causing the pins to glow, plus there's a disco ball there too. But both me and Vincent hated the bowling there. We have a feeling that the lanes are not flat cause all of our bowling balls tend to swerve to the right side of the lane and then into the gutter. So, I still prefer Ampang Bowl at Times Square. Tuesday, February 13, 2007 Treacher, Roses, Necklaces
Monday, February 12, 2007 Karaoke and Bowling AGAIN!!!
Well after that we split up, cause we ex victorians wanted to go bowling while the girls wanted to go shopping. I was supposed to take Pei Wern and Su Yeng back but in the end, they wanted to shop longer i guess so they went back on their own. The first game of bowling ended up with Vincent winning on his last bowl, Ju Hung was quite close behind, and me? Dead last. FAR FAR away!!! They both got over a hundred points and I couldn't even get one single spare or a strike for that matter. Well we changed lanes after that because the equipment there seems to be faulty. The machine doesn't seem to load all the pins up a few times. Well this time I dominated the game!! bwahahahaha!!! I started off with 2 spares and kept getting like 9s and 8s and maybe a 7, plus a few more spares. It was the first time I ever got more than 2 spares in one game. Plus I managed to beat both Ju Hung and Vincent!! I got 117 points while the both of them were tied at 108 points each. Heee~~~~ Well... had to go pick up my brother and my nephew up after that with both of the guys in the car. We also found out that russet potatoes in Cold Storage supermarkets are cheaper than the ones in Giant. Finally to the annoying Mr. Lui. Yes, yes I do love her. But that doesn't mean that she does share the same feelings for me. In fact, she doesn't. So enough already!!! Sunday, February 11, 2007 Letters...
Friday, February 09, 2007 Heartbroken...
I would've thought that I would have gotten used to that feeling. Well... in the end I didn't. But its better this way. It will be easier (albeit only slightly) for me when I leave the country. So. 11 years in Malaysia. 18 years old this year. Still single. And I have a feeling I'm gonna stay single for a long time to come. Thursday, February 08, 2007 Karaoke, Bowling, Mamak....
Anyway... enough about that. Today I was SUPPOSED to go bowling with Philana, Vincent, Mun Tat, Hui Wen and Kathryn.. Except that Kathryn can't come and neither could Hui Wen. And then Philana, who organized the whole thing in the first place couldn't come as well. So we decided to join Fomiphen and the gang at Neway Karaoke. Mun Tat didn't come cause he wasn't interested in singing. This was my first time in any Neway Karaoke branch and I have to say that I prefer Green/Red Box. For 1, Neway's song selection interface is only in Chinese so I had NO idea whatsoever what was being displayed there. 2, the amount of songs there can't compare to the amount of songs that Green/Red Box has. So yea, if you guys wanna go singing at a karaoke, I recommend Green/Red Box. Well after singing a few songs there (The rest sang mostly Chinese songs), we went up to Ampang Superbowl for a round of bowling! Well actually only one round for Moi and I, while the rest played about 3 rounds. It was Moi's first time bowling and he really didn't know how to even roll the ball. You could hear a loud thump each time he rolls it cause it slams onto the floor. In the end he got about 44 marks, I had about 81 (yea I know. I'm no expert at the game you know!) and Vincent had like, erm... 90+ I think. Well thats cause he has been practicing lately. After that I sent Moi back to VI for his duet acting practice for the SEA Forensics 2007 at ISKL this coming 14th,15th and 16th of February. Please note: Do not take Jalan Hang Tuah, Jalan Imbi, or Jalan Pudu while the traffic police is directing the traffic at the junction. Why? Cause the light turned green FOUR TIMES before we finally moved. Moi and I was soo frustrated be were like cursing the traffic policemen each time it turned green. Finally at night, I went to Mydeen with Vincent and Philana at around 9.40pm. Had my dinner there. Garlic and Cheese Naan, Sausages, Tandoori Chicken and Teh Tarik =P. Vincent had Sup Ayam (Mamak style), Garlic and Cheese Naan and his usual Iced Coffee. As for Philana who arrived eating a bun, she ate sausages and had iced Milo. While we were eating the topic turned to the NS and the type of food they served there. Philana will most probably not be going there because of her gastric situation. With the type of food they serve there, she won't be allowed to go anyway. After sending both of them home, I finally reached home at 11.06pm... And now, I need to think of what to do tomorrow.
